Academic Position  Francesca Spigarelli is an Assistant Professor at the University of Macerata (Italy). She teaches Economics, Microeconomics and Economic of Innovation in the Faculty of Law.  She also teaches International business at several Italian MBA and PhD programs, with a specific focus on internationalization processes of firms, the strategies of small and medium-sized companies, emerging market multinationals, mergers and acquisitions.
She is deputy for knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship (spin off, start up, incubators) for the University of Macerata, as well as deputy for International relations and research projects of the Department of Law (University of Macerata)

Other information  She graduated from Polytechnic University of the Marche, cum laude (1995). She received the Best Graduate Award for the year 1995. She got a Ph.D. in Banking and finance (University of Pescara, Italy, 1999). She has been a lecturer at the Polytechnic University of The Marches (2001-2004) and at the University of Macerata since 2000.
She has been an invited speaker at many national scientific conferences. She presented papers at several international conferences (among them: China Goes Global, Boston; MNEs from Emerging Countries, Copenhagen; Eurasia, Athens; EIASM, Bruxelles, Sevilla, Goteborg,…)

Research focus    She has published several articles and book chapters in national and international publications. Her main research topics are SMEs internationalization processes, foreign direct investments, multinational companies from emerging countries and M&As with specific focus on the Chinese context. She serves as a referee for several international scientific journals.
