Academic Position  Louise Curran is Professor at Toulouse Business School, where she teaches International Business. She is head of the International Business pole of the School’s Bachelor Programme.

Other Information    Louise is Irish. She graduated from Manchester Polytechnic in 1989 and went on to do a PhD in the same institution, now called Manchester Metropolitan University. Her PhD thesis, completed in 1995, addressed the impact of the Single European Market on the sourcing strategies in the European clothing industry. She spent two years as a research assistant in the Universities of Liverpool and Hull before joining the European Commission in 1995 as an analyst. She spent 12 years in Brussels working on industrial, research and trade policy, before returning to academia in 2007 to take up her post in Toulouse.

Research Focus   Louise’s research focuses on EU trade policy development and its impact on trade; flows of intermediate trade and their driving factors; the impact of trade policy on Global Production Networks and trade and sustainable development more generally. She has published over 20 articles in international peer reviewed journals and speaks regularly at international conferences such as those of various AIB Chapters, SASE and China Goes Global. She reviews for several scientific journals and is on the Editorial Committee for the Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management.
